FatPipe Keeps C.R. England Trucking Rolling on the
Internet Highway, Migrating From Frame to VPN for a Disaster Proof,
Highly Redundant WAN FatPipe Networks Helps C.R. England Migrate
From Frame to VPN, Increasing Bandwidth Eight Fold and Achieving WAN
Fault Tolerance at No Additional Cost SALT LAKE CITY, UT--(MARKET WIRE)--Apr 18, 2006 -- FatPipe Networks(TM), the inventor and
multiple patents holder of WAN optimization, load
balancing, redundancy and
security products,
announced today
the successful migration from a frame network to a Virtual
Private Network
(VPN) for customer C.R. England Trucking. C.R. England is
the nation's
leading refrigerated trucking company with offices across
America and
presence in Canada and Mexico. C.R. England's high dependency on its WAN to communicate with customers, vendors and employees was the leading motivator to reevaluate the effectiveness of its Wide Area Network (WAN). CR England's mission critical business applications are centrally managed at its main office based in Salt Lake City, Utah using a thin client model. C.R. England changed its WAN infrastructure from an expensive and inadequate frame relay to a more affordable, highly redundant and fast Internet based VPN. The switch from frame to Internet afforded C.R. England increased bandwidth, greater control, and more WAN reliability and redundancy than ever before. WAN reliability, network stability, and a significant increase in bandwidth were imperative to keep up with the company's growth rate and business needs. The integration of FatPipe WARP was an integral part of C.R. England's overall IT strategy to have aggregate speed of data connections as well as high WAN fault tolerance and business continuity. A downed WAN would disrupt business transactions immediately, halting communications with vendors, remote offices, drivers, and customers. To protect C.R. England's network from failures, C.R. England set up a redundant network of mirrored units for all of its mission critical devices, including the WARP. "The change over has resulted in a significant increase in productivity and business continuity," said Paul Erickson, IT Director of C.R. England Trucking. At the main office, FatPipe's WARP bonds a T1 bundle and a Fractional DS3 for a combined throughput of 23 Mbps. The disparate lines originate from two separate ISPs for true redundancy. It balances load over the two lines, and features automatic link failover if one of the lines goes down due to irregular ISP, line, or router failure. WARP's SmartDNS feature also gives full control of DNS records to C.R. England. Its user friendly graphical interface makes it easy for C.R. England to manage and monitor line activity.
"At no additional cost, C.R. England's bandwidth is now 8 times faster than it was with its previous frame network by aggregating the lines through the FatPipe," said Dirk Anderson, C.R. England's Vice President of Technology. "If C.R. England had stayed with frame, that kind of speed would cost them an additional $15,000 a month," added David Norwood, President of Trusted Networks Solutions, the FatPipe Reseller that completed the installation. About FatPipe Networks FatPipe Networks is the inventor and multiple patents holders (US Patent numbers: 6,493,341,B1; 6,253,247,B1; 6,295,276, and 6,775,235) of technology that provides the highest levels of optimization, reliability, security and acceleration of Wide Area Networks (WANS). FatPipe's line of products cover an array of features and benefits for companies that run mission critical applications over any type of WAN infrastructure. Dynamic load balancing, Quality of Service (QoS), and additional security; as well as compression, and VPN encryption capability are also available.
