New Version of FatPipe Internet Office Software Released With Fast Internet Access Features For Small Businesses
Version 3.0 of FatPipe Includes Upgraded Access Management and Improved User Functionality
Salt Lake City: Sep 28, 1998 - The newest version of FatPipe Internet Office, a fast Internet access software which quadruples Internet access speeds using multiple analog or digital lines, was announced today by Ragula Systems, Inc. Since its introduction in June of this year, FatPipe Internet has been gaining recognition as the only software to combine analog or digital lines into a single, high-speed connection which can be shared by all users on the LAN. FatPipe Internet turns any PC into a high-speed gateway to the Internet. It offers users a simple and affordable way to download Web pages at ISDN speeds using multiple analog lines, or at fractional T1 speeds using multiple ISDN lines. FatPipe Internet version 3.0 now includes upgraded Internet access management and superior Internet access features specifically designed for small and growing businesses.
Without changing existing telephone, network, or ISP infrastructures, FatPipe Internet transparently downloads Web site text and graphics across multiple modems in a parallel data stream, then reassembles the data once it is downloaded. By connecting four analog lines and four modems, and ensuring that each modem has an ISP connection, users can access the Internet at ISDN speeds at a fraction of the cost of setting up ISDN lines.
Version 3.0 of FatPipe Internet now includes improved Internet Access Management for better user security. In addition to allowing companies to control employee Web browsing, version 3.0 now lets network administrators assign Internet access rights to individual users in workgroups with options to manage FTP, e-mail, news groups, and chat rooms. Other user functionality features which have been added to version 3.0 include Persistent Connection which automatically reconnects phone lines which have been disconnected on a remote site. A new Web Access Log keeps a detailed record of which sites are being visited by which users and includes a sort feature which allows administrators to sort by site, user, Web address, or time. Time Dial has also been added to version 3.0, which automatically dials the Web using pre-defined dates and times to check stock market reports, e-mail, etc. An Auto Re-Dial feature lets FatPipe Internet dial out and connect to an ISP only when needed, and Bandwidth On Demand automatically drops or adds telephone lines as needed.
FatPipe Internet works with any combination of modem speeds across different ISPs on Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows NT computers. It supports any IP-enabled computer on a home or office network and is compatible across multiple operating systems. No special setup or client stack is required for each workstation; protocol support is automatically configured upon installation. FatPipe Internet allows up to 100 users to share an Internet connection and has a suggested retail price of $299.
