FatPipe Networks Releases Xtreme for Mission Critical Internet Applications; FatPipe Xtreme Technology Answers Businesses' Need for Highly Reliable and Redundant Internet/WAN Access

Salt Lake City, Utah: Sep 18, 2000 (Business Wire) - FatPipe® Networks, the leading developer of mission critical Internet access products, Monday announced the release of FatPipe Xtreme, a router-clustering product.

Xtreme features redundant and failover recoverability options for mission critical Internet and Frame Relay access for small to medium size businesses and branch offices.

Xtreme's patent pending technology, Redundant Array of Inexpensive Lines (RAIL), can combine T3, T1, ISDN, DSL and/or wireless connections to create a single logical fatpipe. Xtreme works over multiple ISPs, POPs, and backbones to provide businesses up to three times the reliability, three times the redundancy, and three times the aggregate speed of WAN access.

Xtreme is designed to work with any operating system, platform and WAN technology.

Cost Effective Internet Access Solution for Mission Critical Applications

Businesses of all sizes are increasingly reliant on Internet, Intranet, Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), and thin client (CITRIX) connectivity for critical interaction with customers, employees, suppliers and partners. As a result, the issues of redundancy, reliability and speed of Internet connections are of utmost importance in today's business environment.

According to FatPipe Networks' Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ragula Bhaskar, FatPipe's innovative technology was borne out of the idea that reliable and redundant Internet connections should be available to all small to medium size companies, and branch offices of large corporations, without having to pay high costs or compromising quality service.

"Companies are apprehensive about cost, speed, and compatibility of newly available communication technologies. Yet they recognize that their customers and clients are dependent upon real-time, always-up Internet connections; companies realize that they are held accountable when their connection goes down," said Bhaskar.

He continued, "Businesses can potentially lose tens of thousands of dollars a day when backbones, lines or ISP connections are interrupted. Their customers' confidence can shrink, too. FatPipe Xtreme was designed as a solution to combat these common obstacles."

A Complete Solution for Redundant, Reliable and High Speed Internet Connectivity

FatPipe gives companies the option to utilize their existing technology (i.e. backup lines), or purchase relatively inexpensive DSL lines to obtain aggregate speeds and redundancy at a low cost.
"We look for products that provide a complete solution for our customers, and Xtreme is one of those products. What differentiates Xtreme is that it is easy to install, with no further programming, and it is flexible, as it aggregates any combination of routers.
"We think these features along with its management tools are very attractive and cost effective for our customers," commented Fred Trovato, senior vice president of Uinta Business Systems, a Novell platinum VAR.
