FatPipe® Networks patents technology that provides redundancy and additional security of the transmission of IP packets over WANs

Salt Lake City, UT: Septeber 11, 2001 - FatPipe® Networks, the leading developer of router clustering devices for reliable, redundant and fast Internet/WAN connections, announces today that it has successfully secured a patent for its router clustering technology.

The patent covers two of the Company's inventions: FatPipe's Redundant Array of Independent Lines (RAIL) and Multi-Path Security (MPSec), which both provide methods and systems for transmitting IP data over wide area networks, using multiple connections, dynamically and efficiently.

FatPipe's RAIL technology aggregates any combination of T1, T3, E1, E3, DSL, ISDN, or Wireless connections to achieve speed, and dynamically balances load over multiple lines. RAIL is the core technology available in each FatPipe product.

FatPipe's MPSec splits a data stream at the packet level and randomly sends the packets over multiple connections of a Virtual Private Network. MPSec is employed by FatPipe's MP VPN product, a router-clustering device that provides up to three times the speed and reliability and nine times the security for VPN infrastructures.

"We bring unique products to the mission critical WAN space, so the patent is very important to us. It also gives us a stronger position in the marketplace, " said Ragula Bhaskar, Ph.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of FatPipe.
