Chicago, Illinois: October 17, 2002 - FatPipe®Networks, the inventor of router-clustering devices for reliable, redundant and fast Internet/WAN connections, helped SanDisk Corporation (NASDAQ: SNDK) secure TechTarget's 2002 Networking Innovator Award largely based on the implementation of several MPVPN units in SanDisk's worldwide VPN.

SanDisk, the leading supplier of flash data storage products in consumer, OEM and industrial markets, won in the category of Network Infrastructure Leadership, which focuses on a company's ability to create a networking infrastructure using in leading-edge technology to make a fault tolerant, easily accessible network to end users using high-bandwidth and secured connections. SanDisk was able to meet the criteria of the award mainly due to its implementation of FatPipe's MPVPN router-clustering devices, which bond multiple connections over separate ISPs and backbones.

"Prior to the installation of the MPVPN, our production facilities in Asia were constantly hindered with disruptions in service with the local ISP, which severely prevented the timely production of SanDisk products," said Gursharan Singh, Director of Asia Operations for SanDisk. "The FatPipe MPVPN greatly alleviated this issue by enabling remote production facilities to utilize multiple ISP connections and enabling automatic failover when service was interrupted with one of the WAN links. This product has truly saved SanDisk millions of dollars simply by being able to keep our production facilities constantly connected to the US offices," concluded Singh.

SanDisk was able to integrate MPVPN technology seamlessly and transparently into their complex network, which spans across the globe, without having to severely change their current WAN infrastructure. Four MPVPN units were installed in four locations in the US, China and Taiwan to obtain the highest level of redundancy, additional security, and speed for their VPN. SanDisk plans on installing six more units in branch offices located in Europe, Israel and Japan by the end of this year.
