FatPipe is the Cornerstone of Your Clients' WANs to Achieve High Performance of Virtualized Apps

As companies continue to increase their reliance on Wide Area Network (WAN) applications to conduct day-to-day business, a trend towards virtualizing business applications has emerged.  Companies are moving towards visualization  to help them reduce IT costs, increase end user usability, improve business continuity and support collaborate projects involving multiple parties.

The benefits of Visualization are tremendous. However, an interruption in data delivery due to unexpected failures of WAN component or services brings all business services and applications communications to a full stop.  In fact, the biggest challenge implementing a virtual environment is maintaining WAN connectivity.  Another big challenge companies face is the necessity of high bandwidth.

Virtual traffic is "live" -- similar to VoIP and video traffic -- and requires extreme WAN uptime. It also requires excellent Quality of Service (QoS) and high bandwidth.  As the inventor and multiple patents holder of router-clustering devices that provide the highest level of WAN redundancy, speed and data route control, FatPipe gives you customers the whole package.

Top Five Reasons Why Customers Should use FatPipe Technology for Their Virtual Applications

1/ FatPipe provides the highest level of extreme availability and redundancy for their Wide Area Networks.

2/ Sessions will not be lost once they are started - even if a line fails in the middle of a transition - using FatPipe MPVPN.

3/ FatPipe has easy-to-use Quality of Service tools that allow your customers to guarantee bandwidth and set priorities by application (Layer 7), IP or Port for the ultimate control of data traffic.

4/ FatPipe gives customers a simple and easy way to add data line speed as they see fit. They can aggregate two or more of ANY combination of lines, public and private, and any combination of ISPs without BGP or any cooperation from ISPs.

5/ FatPipe is the best product your client can use to failover VoIP, video, and virtualized traffic.

Featured FAQs

Q: Does the FatPipe device have the ability to support SPF records?

A: The FatPipe device does have the ability to support SPF records. This is something configurable within the GUI of the FatPipe under the SmartDNS settings. There are many SPF wizards online that can be used to create the SPF string that can then be easily pasted in the FatPipe GUI.

Q: Is FatPipe DNS server vulnerable to cache poisoning (Technical Cyber Security Alert TA08-190B)?

A: No. This vulnerability affects only caching resolvers. FatPipe does not allow queries to any domains except for the domains it hosts. Recursion is not allowed. Queries are not cached, since FatPipe name server is authoritative for all queries it allows.

Case Study: Health Benefits Firm

A National Healthcare Benefits Administration Firm Uses FatPipe MPVPN with QoS and IPSec for WAN Reliability, Data Route Control, and Real-Time Site Failover

A trusted expert in compliance, government contracts, customization and fringe benefits management of various healthcare acts and legislation, utilizes proprietary mission critical WAN applications, including interoffice VoIP, to protect and assist in their clients' healthcare needs.  Its corporate headquarters is located on the west coast, while its production facility is in the southern US.

It is imperative that this firm completes the processing of medical claims in a timely fashion to facilitate medical care, including critical life saving treatments. As a result, the shared Wide Area Networks (WAN) applications between the two offices must have 100% availability at all times. "If we cannot provide answers to client or health provider inquiries due to a WAN outage, it could impede critical medical treatments," said the firm's IT Director.    He goes on to say that "Network availability from outside our network is just as critical. We host a secure website for our clients to access and manage their benefits in real-time. If our site goes down for any reason, such as a WAN failure, then our clients and their employees lose that manageability."

Each location had experienced intermittent WAN failures as well as poor total bandwidth throughput resulting in the loss of thousands of dollars in productivity each day, according to the IT Director.  The organization turned to FatPipe to resolve the speed, reliability, and business continuity issues it was having with its WAN connections.

The company now utilizes FatPipe MPVPN to aggregate three connections at each site. Employing MPVPN's main redundancy, security and bandwidth optimization features -- as well as add-on QoS and IPSec features -- it has improved its data route control, security, and transmission speed.  The company also balances load between the sites while maintaining a consistent real-time replication system using FatPipe QoS, successfully turning the southern office into a hot-failover site.

"The MPVPN units are one of my favorite devices of all time for security and reliability," said the IT Director.  They used to do VPN tunnels with a popular VPN manufacturer, but it switched to FatPipe IPSec instead. "FatPipe proprietary IPSec is robust and less vulnerable to attacks from outside hackers."

The IT Director stressed the importance of business continuity and security as key issues for his company. "All of the different regulations including HIPAA, SAS70 and COBRA compliance deal with the availability and security of medical and financial information at their core. For example, our company needs to notify participants of their COBRA rights within 72 hours after leaving their jobs otherwise they are not eligible for continued medical treatment." FatPipe ensures the delivery of these important messages by eliminating concerns about WAN security, speed and reliability.

Lastly, "installation was a breeze and configuration was a cinch," said the IT Director.  Easy installation and maintenance allows the company to focus its attention on customers with the peace of mind that it has a superior WAN business continuity plan.

BENEFITS
This healthcare benefits firm now enjoys a high level of WAN reliability to support its mission critical web-based applications used to provide mission critical services to its clients. The company now has greater control over the flow of its data traffic as well as increased security, which helps it comply with the various healthcare acts and legislation.
