Case Study: A Company Uses FatPipe Technology for Sub-Second Failover of VoIP Calls
SITUATION
The call center was losing money and customers due to intermittent failures of its VoIP system. The system took up to 30 minutes to restore at locations that experienced line degradation or failure, halting phone activity between customers and agents. This was especially an issue at remote and international location where line quality and IT resources were more scarce. This put the company at risk of paying penalties for not meeting SLAs.
SOLUTION
The customer installed FatPipe at their offices and call center locations to achieve automatic and intelligent line failover, keeping calls connected even when lines failed without dropping calls or shutting down IP telephones.
Using FatPipe policy routing, QoS, and WAN optimization the company was able to micromanage their WAN. They are able to control the paths that applications flow across the WAN and prioritize the WAN to ensure they business critical VoIP and other applications always have the bandwidth and network conditions required for peak performance. FatPipe's WAN optimization has reduced extraneous WAN traffic leaving more bandwidth for critical applications while improving performance on all WAN applications.
This was all done on a unified platform simplifying configuration and reducing the footprint of the WAN edge.
