FatPipe Networks™, the inventor and multiple patents holder of WAN optimization, redundancy and security products, announced today that its President and Chief Executive Officer, Ragula Bhaskar, Ph.D., is the new Chairman of the Governor's Office of Economic Development (GOED) Board.
The GOED charter is based on Governor Jon Huntsman's commitment to economic development statewide. The mandate for this office is to provide rich business resources for the creation, growth and recruitment of companies to Utah and to increase tourism and film production in the state. GOED accomplishes this mission through the administration of programs that are based around industries or "economic clusters" that demonstrate the best potential for development. GOED utilizes state resources and private sector contracts to fulfill its mission.

Bhaskar's experience extends beyond entrepreneurship and includes a Ph.D. in Engineering from Pennsylvania State University. His academic career includes work as a research technologist in the engineering department at Pennsylvania State University, and later as a tenured associate professor of Mining Engineering at the University of Utah. He has also served on several committees, including the Society of Mining Engineers (SME) and the Public Policy Committee of the Utah Information Tech Association.
